The engine build up was put together with street use in mind, since I planned on being on the street more than at the track. The major factors for the street were the selection of cam and the stall speed of the torque converter.   Most important, because I live in CA, is that the engine pass visual and sniffer test for the biennial smog checks.  The machine shop that did the balancing and blueprinting recommended that I stay with a cam with under 222 degrees duration @ .050 to be able to pass the sniffer. As far as the torque converter, everyone that I talked to, including the Monte list, recommended a 2000-2400 stall speed or less for the street.
